Another family vacation in the books. We headed out to Hilton Head, South Carolina on Friday, December 30th. On our adventure we stopped and stayed the night in Atlanta, GA before we made the rest of the trip to South Carolina. We stayed at a wonderful Renaissance and found a great BBQ place for dinner.
The next day we made the last leg of the trip and stopped in Savannah, GA. This is somewhere I would love to come back to for an adult trip sometime. The downtown scene was beautiful and the food was great. It was so much to be in warmer weather. Then we loaded back into the car for a few short hours before we got to Hilton Head.
Jackson loved all the boats and the buildings were beautiful
Hilton Head was amazing because it was there "dead season," which is my favorite. It was actually really nice while were were there with temps in the 70's. We were able to go on long walks, find local places to eat, swim in the pool, and go to the beach. Love creating memories for our family!
We took a lot of walks on the beach. Jackson at first hated the sand but by the end of the trip he was in the Ocean with Matt. This was Jackson's 3rd time to the ocean. He is a seasoned little traveler!
These two could have sat here for hours, well Oakleigh just kept eating the sand!
The area had just had a hurricane go through a week before we got to the resort. There was still a lot of debri and crews cleaning up but it was crazy to see all the damage. We went on a lot of little adventures trying to find hot spots for happy hours!
These Two! Jackson loved every minute of this!
We left the beach early and headed home because a big winter storm was coming through. We stopped for the night in Pigeon Forge, TN and it again was a cool area but a lot of things were closed because of the holiday. We did find some good places to eat and our first arcade experience!
Jackson, blanket, and bunny!
