Miss Oakleigh Jo Jones was born on March 31st weighing in a 7lbs 12oz, and 21 inches long. She is absolutely perfect and we were so excited for Jackson to come meet his little sister all day long. We drove to the hospital at 5am on Thursday for a schedule c-section since little miss was breached and since we had Jackson via c-section as well. When we got to the hospital it was an easy process from the time we got there and at about 6:45 am we had seen the anesthesiologist and my doctor and were ready to go.
This time was a little different than the last since it was all scheduled but almost more scary than with Jackson. I walked into the OR and got my spinal and before I knew it I would hear our little girl cry. It went extremely fast and I wasn't feeling the best but with Matt by my side and knowing we were going to meet our little girl I knew it as all worth it.
We had Oakleigh's name picked out since we were pregnant with Jackson but decided we were definitely going to use it about 2-3 months ago. We decided on the spelling and her middle name shortly after they told us they thought it was a girl so we ran with it. We got the idea for her name after Oakley, Kansas when we went through this town on a trip home from Colorado and Jo is a family name on Matt's side.
From the moment we met Oakleigh she was a happy baby. I felt like she was smiling at me as soon as they handed her over to me. She laid on my chest as quiet as a mouse and when they wheeled me back into our rooms she just kept looking up at me. She nursed right away and we didn't have any visitors until the afternoon so we had time to bond just the three of us. Then later Jackson came and we realized we were a family of 4, well 5 if you count our first baby Willie!
We had lots of visitors while we were in the hospital but were happy to head home on Saturday morning. I thought for sure they were going to tell us that Oakleigh was a boy, but I am so excited to have our son and now our baby girl!
Jackson meeting "Baby" for the first time. It was one of the sweetest things I have ever seen.
Little Miss in her little bear hat I had made by one of my friends.First family with just mommy and daddy... we never got one of the four of us in the hospital.
Proud Daddy!
My first look at my little girl. I felt horrible right before the surgery took place, but when I got to hold her it definitely made up for it. Matt got some good pictures of this! I keep coming back to these two pictures and they are my favorite. I think the one on the left she is smiling at me. I hope she shows off her dimples all the time!
Oakleigh getting all take care of and even scored a 9 on her APGAR test.
The best selfie ever!
