Oakleigh Jo Jones

Miss Oakleigh Jo Jones was born on March 31st weighing in a 7lbs 12oz, and 21 inches long. She is absolutely perfect and we were so excited for Jackson to come meet his little sister all day long. We drove to the hospital at 5am on Thursday for a schedule c-section since little miss was breached and since we had Jackson via c-section as well. When we got to the hospital it was an easy process from the time we got there and at about 6:45 am we had seen the anesthesiologist and my doctor and were ready to go.

This time was a little different than the last since it was all scheduled but almost more scary than with Jackson. I walked into the OR and got my spinal and before I knew it I would hear our little girl cry. It went extremely fast and I wasn't feeling the best but with Matt by my side and knowing we were going to meet our little girl I knew it as all worth it.

We had Oakleigh's name picked out since we were pregnant with Jackson but decided we were definitely going to use it about 2-3 months ago. We decided on the spelling and her middle name shortly after they told us they thought it was a girl so we ran with it. We got the idea for her name after Oakley, Kansas when we went through this town on a trip home from Colorado and Jo is a family name on Matt's side.

From the moment we met Oakleigh she was a happy baby. I felt like she was smiling at me as soon as they handed her over to me. She laid on my chest as quiet as a mouse and when they wheeled me back into our rooms she just kept looking up at me. She nursed right away and we didn't have any visitors until the afternoon so we had time to bond just the three of us.  Then later Jackson came and we realized we were a family of 4, well 5 if you count our first baby Willie!

We had lots of visitors while we were in the hospital but were happy to head home on Saturday morning. I thought for sure they were going to tell us that Oakleigh was a boy, but I am so excited to have our son and now our baby girl!

Jackson meeting "Baby" for the first time. It was one of the sweetest things I have ever seen.
Little Miss in her little bear hat I had made by one of my friends.

First family with just mommy and daddy... we never got one of the four of us in the hospital.

Proud Daddy!

This was when we got back to the hospital room ad it was the first time I really got to look at her. Better than in the OR when I couldn't really hold her. We bonded for a few minutes with Daddy by our side and then she nursed instantly and stayed there for about thirty minutes. So serious, she is going to have permanent frown lines like her momma. Sorry girlfriend!
My first look at my little girl. I felt horrible right before the surgery took place, but when I got to hold her it definitely made up for it. Matt got some good pictures of this! I keep coming back to these two pictures and they are my favorite. I think the one on the left she is smiling at me. I hope she shows off her dimples all the time!
Oakleigh getting all take care of and even scored a 9 on her APGAR test.

The best selfie ever!

Only Child, Expires Tomorrow!

I was trying to get one last belly picture and one with Jackson. It was right before bed so timing wasn't really the best but we got a few. I look at at pictures from 32 weeks to 39 and I think I stayed about the same size, thanks to all the tummy aches and heartburn. This baby might come out with a pony tail for all I know!

Getting Ready for Baby #2 and Easter

Doesn't everyone do work in bunny ears? I bought these for Jackson last year and I think he wore them once so I got them out again this year and he loved them. We did a lot of playing, working, and building in our bunny ears.
Jackson loves to haul things in his semi! Lincoln logs are one of the best things that gets moved around the living room almost daily....
We were playing in the basement and I started to get out the baby stuff, check batteries, and get everything washed. Jackson had to help with his screw driver. The whole time he just kept saying "baby" and making sure it was all in working order!
Such a good little helper. It is so much easier the second time around since we have everything, but the tough part is actually remembering where I put all of Jackson's stuff!

Big Stuff

It is official. Jackson doesn't even need me anymore. He can get up on his own at the park on the jungle gym and can go down the big slide by himself. I don't even like the big slide at the park!
He isn't scared of anything.... Stop getting older my little man! Where did my baby go?
Another day we went to another park closer to our house and Jackson was too busy watching the big kids play basketball to play. He just kept saying "ball" and pointing! We will have to find another basketball game to go to soon!

Easter Fun!

We broke up Easter over two days since it is so hard with little man with naps. Matt's parents came over for a cookout on Friday and we had an egg hunt in the basement. Jackson was completely against using a basket so he decided his dump truck was a better way to get around. It was really funny! The eggs could have been empty and he still would have been having the time of his life!

So resourceful! Jackson loves his truck and only has a few. I really hope his sister likes them because we are going to run out of room...
Willie even watched the whole thing to make sure everyone was doing the right thing. Jackson is really into chasing Willie around right now, it is hilarious.
Sunday we headed to my parents for brunch and had such a nice time. It is so much fun that we all live so close and can get together for holidays like this! Here is our last family picture of just the three of us!
 Me and my little buddy....
The hunt is on.... you have to love my belly in these pictures!

We didn't even to tell them to hold hands..... So precious!
The cousins playing with croquet mallets or what I like to call them, death sticks. They were having a great time, a little scary but they didn't seem to mind.

Before everyone got there Jackson and Matt went to do some work with my dad and of course we had to get into the tractors. This is one thing I wish we could do more of...

Bath Time is Soooo Much Fun!

Bath time is becoming a daily routine because as soon as Jackson is done with dinner he wants a bath. He will stay in there until he is cold and pruney... The only catch is you have to be in there with him or he will pour the water out of the tub. What can I say, I am sure I would have done the same thing. We found Paw Patrol bubbles that are hypoallergenic and they don't both his skin and he loves them. I will make a beard on him and tell him he looks like Daddy, that always makes him giggle!
All smiles for mommy, I can get the best pictures in the bath because he can't get my phone!
This night we had too much fun in the tub. I walked out from cleaning the bathroom and he was laying on his toy box. Silly boy....
